The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said that due to work in today’s time, people often have to shift from one state to another. In such a situation, on reaching the new state, getting your vehicle registered anew is quite a headache. Now they are getting relief from this hassle.
MORTH has introduced a new registration mark for new vehicles – Bharat series (BH-series). A vehicle with BH mark will not require a new registration mark when the owner shifts from one State to another.

The ministry said that a new Bharat Series (BH-Series) has been launched for registration of vehicles. People changing the state will not have to re-register their vehicle after reaching the new state due to this series.
These people will benefit more
The ministry says that the registration of BH-Series will be done on a voluntary basis. Most of the people go from one state to another for job-profession, this includes both government employees or private.
Therefore, employees of Central and State Governments, employees of Central and State Government Undertakings (PSUs), defense personnel and employees of large private sector companies will be able to take advantage of BH-Series. Employees of private sector companies whose offices will be in 4 or more states / union territories, their employees will be able to take advantage of this.

The ministry also informed that in a single attempt, an IT based solution has been introduced to register the vehicle according to the new BH-Series.
what is the current rule
At present, under Section-47 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, a person can drive a vehicle with an old registration for 12 months on arrival in a new state. That person has to get the new registration of the vehicle done in the new state according to the rules of the same period.
